Chelsey, labeled as The Popular Girl, is a contestant in Total Drama Revolution. She was placed on the Epic Platypi team. She returned for Total Drama: Superstar Showdown, and was placed on the Hopalong Ralphcakes team.

Biography[]

Chelsey lives with her mother, father, brother, and sister. She was always considered to be a pretty girl. When she was in kindergarten, she got at least ten love notes on Valentine's Day, and broke all of the little boys' hearts by telling them they were "icky." Once she grew older and went through puberty, boys started to like Chelsey even more. She had her first boyfriend in fifth grade, but she did not like him, she only wished to date him because he "saved" her from someone holding a worm. Once everyone forgot about that incident, Chelsey dumped the boy and he ended up traumatized for months. When she got to middle school, everyone started to care about popularity. She grew even more popular because of her looks, and became the queen bee of the school. Chelsey got used to boys asking her out once a day, and rejected every single one, until she met one specific guy. He was mean, he got bad grades, and he somewhat resembled a horse. But he was popular because he was a good athlete, so she decided to date him solely for his popularity. She broke up with him after getting bored, and Chelsey is now looking for a new boyfriend so she can take her mind off of her ex.

Chelsey joined Total Drama Revolution to become even more popular and get a new boyfriend.

Total Drama Revolution[]

Chelsey arrived to Total Drama Revolution and immediately started judging her fellow contestants on their popularity, talking about the "Popularity Meter" and awarding them Popularity Points, or PP. She was disgusted by most of the other contestants there, especially the boys, but became fast friends with Elle after they bonded over their mutual fandom of the TV series Nebraska Shore. In addition, Donny on the other team developed a crush on her, but kept this under wraps at the beginning. For the majority of the pre-merge, Chelsey did very little other than watch Nebraska Shore with Elle, avoid Toad and Kavren's advances—which generally worked, except for when Toad ripped her shirt off at one point—and bully social outcast Cammy and her boyfriend Trick.

Once the merge hit, Chelsey continued to watch Nebraska Shore with Elle and belittle the less popular contestants, Tasia especially getting on her nerves. At one particular challenge, where contestants were to befriend celebrities, Chelsey picked Snooki to work with, knowing full well that it'd enrage Elle. This effort backfired on her and got her voted out at the final five, but not before Donny kissed her out of nowhere. While she was caught off-guard, she also seemed to enjoy it, and made a heart-shape with her hands as she drove away in the Taxi of Losers.

After Total Drama Revolution[]

After the season ended, Chelsey continued hanging out a lot with Elle, and they go to beaches together and party it up frequently. They took a trip to the Jersey shore one summer, where they did mysterious things, but for the most part, Chelsey has stayed clean. When she came back to school, she got even more popular, and more and more boys tried to flirt with her and ask her out. Chelsey has grown a little bit nicer, but still shows her mean side once in a blue moon. In terms of her relationship with Donny, they have still been dating, but the relationship is on-and-off and Chelsey has ignored him for months at a time. The other girls at her school think that she can do better than Donny, since he's not popular enough apparently, but a part of her genuinely likes him. She still despises unpopular people, but has tried to avoid them.

Chelsey was asked back due to her popularity, of course, and instantly said yes so she could be on TV again.

Total Drama: Superstar Showdown[]

Total Drama Lakeside[]

Chelsey made a brief appearance in Total Drama Lakeside's twelfth chapter, where she was seen attending a nearby tailgate party for a football game. Erica and Frances encountered her in the middle of the Ridonculous Race challenge, looking for a golden beer can, and she and Erica immediately began arguing over who deserved the can. Chelsey complimented Erica's top in the middle of fighting with her, but the two quickly resumed the argument while Frances slipped away. She then made an off-hand reference to her PP system, which initially confused Erica, so she went into detail and eventually awarded Erica a 99/100 score. Erica left upon hearing this, which offended Chelsey. Shortly after, Christian and Isabella showed up. Christian attempted to hit on Chelsey while Isabella complimented her scarf, and bothered by both of these interactions, Chelsey walked away.

She headed to the "bathroom" of the party, which was of course rigged with a confession cam. She angrily told Chris to "get a life," but then figured that before she left, she may as well plug her Instagram—unfortunately, the tape cut out before she could.

Audition Tape[]

Chelsey is at a table in a school lunchroom, surrounded by a posse of athletic, rich-looking students.

"Hi. I'm Chelsey and you should pick me be—" begins Chelsey.

"Because she's really courteous and nice and she's my BFFFL," says a girl with a "Luv Purple" tanktop and yoga pants.

"And she's also hot," says Manty.

"And I used to date her but she dumped me," says a horse-faced boy with gym clothes and a buzz cut.

"If Chels wasn't in my life, I don't know where I'd be right now," says a short girl wearing heavy amounts of makeup.

"Oh, and her boobs are really big. So pick her," says Manty again. Chelsey groans.

Trivia[]

  • Chelsey was based on (a rather exaggerated version of) a girl I went to high school with.
  • Chelsey's prototype names included Chelsea, Chelsie, Chelsy and Chelsi. This isn't my favorite way of spelling the name Chelsea, but it was the only spelling that wasn't weird and obscure and that was available at the time.
    • When the page Chelsea was temporarily deleted, I was tempted to change her name to Chelsea, but that would've been way too much work and I had grown to like the Chelsey spelling.
  • Chelsey was planned to be eliminated much earlier in Revolution, around 15th place, but that was changed due to her popularity among the users and the fact that I liked writing for her a lot more than I thought I would.
  • In the TDRev beta, Chelsey was an actual model but was more whiny, stuck-up, and villainous, similar to Layla. Her relationship with Donny was also planned to be far more prominent.
  • Chelsey is of Cuban descent.
  • Chelsey seems to have fanboys at her school. Two of them, Sean Neyugn and Spam Hildefrad, were described in Total Drama Revolution. They are based on Oats and Fanny respectively, two users who vocally adored Chelsey at the time I wrote TDRev.
    • Elle's statements that Sean ate too much oatmeal and Spam "shook it up" too much are allusions to Oats' username and the fact that Fanny told us he was on the TV show Shake It Up! at one point.
  • I thought people would hate Chelsey, but she turned out to be one of TDRev's breakout stars and one of my most popular characters ever. She even acquired a couple fanboys.
  • Chelsey's scarf kickstarted a trend of other users giving characters of theirs, especially popular/attractive ones, scarves as well. Rhonda's Lita is a perfect example.
  • I decided to bring Chelsey back instead of Elle largely because Bruno loved her so much, as well as my realization that she was a much more versatile character.
  • From the very start of TDSS's planning, Chelsey was planned to get to the final two and lose to Wolfgang. The two seemed like perfect foils, and I knew they'd be able to bring out the best (and worst) in each other.
  • Wolfgang and Chelsey being in the final two together was alluded to in a few ways—they both wear scarves, they are standing next to each other in the cast photo, and they were introduced back-to-back in the first chapter.
