Andy grew up in a normal household with a normal family. He played baseball and soccer like the average kid would and continued playing soccer in high school. He had friends. He wasn't popular but he wasn't quiet either. In general, there was no real problem with him. That was the problem he saw people go through a lot and he couldn't say he went through anything.
He joined Total Drama Idiots to donate the money to charity. He also joined to have a fun experience.
